This course is a baseline course designed for non-prescribing health care practitioners who want to learn the basics of medical cannabis. No Prerequisite required
This 36-hour course is offered via two delivery timeframe methods:
- Once per week, over the course of 12 weeks or
- In a condensed 1-week intensive version.
Course topics include:
Brief History of Cannabis
Learning Objective: Discuss the historical use of cannabis as a medicine and its subsequent prohibition.
Medical Grade Cannabis Cultivation
Learning Objective: Describe basic horticultural and cultivation requirements for medical-grade cannabis.
Endocannabinoid System
Learning Objective: Explain the basic structure and function of the endocannabinoid system.
Cannabis dosing and Administration
Learning Objective: Describe at least four different methods of cannabis administration
Legal Implications for Nurses
Learning Objective: Describe the legal implications regarding medical cannabis and nursing.
